Tori & Dani Seeger

There are so many temporary queer spaces but this permanent, physical space is so beautiful and important. I want to do what I can to help it stay beautiful so everyone can enjoy it.
— Tori Seeger

Tori Seeger (they/them) and Dani Seeger (she/her) are a married couple and have been volunteering for just a few weeks at Queermunity. Dani, the more self-described "front of the house" part of the duo offers hospitality at the front desk once a week while Tori, who identifies as more introverted, helps with facilities support. The newlyweds have been married 6 exciting months and say "going to the bar is boring for us so this is a great avenue to meet other Queer folks."

When asked why she volunteers, Dani told us:

"I care about the mission of this place and want to see it succeed. This is a really big deal for our community. When we were here a few weeks ago, we did a puzzle with a Queer kid and it was great to be able to them see Queer adults living their lives and being in community.

We can tell the staff and other volunteers are really dedicated to the mission and this is a good sign. It is just the beginning of Queermunity being a staple in the Queer and Trans community. In 50 years, Queermunity is going to be talked about as part of history.

Our volunteers are critical to making our space feel welcoming and inclusive. Seemingly small acts like sweeping the floor, stocking the shelves, or greeting visitors make this space feel like home. And that is no small thing.

Thank you Dani and Tori for being a part of our mission and supporting the queer community in the Twin Cities!
