Quiet Riot: A Calm Celebration of Loud Identities
Quiet Riot is a unique Pride event centering queer joy, rest, and resistance through calm connection. Designed especially for neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive folks—but open to all—this event reimagines what celebration can look like.

Trans Prom: Frolicking in the Meadow
Trans Prom 2025, presented by Tea Time, is a premier community event that provides a safe space for ALL gender expansive folks to experience affirmation through socializing, networking and fun.
This year's trans prom will take place at Queermunity on July 12th from 4-8PM.
This will be an 18+ sober event.

Jonathan P. Higgins presents Black. Fat. Femme.
In Black. Fat. Femme: Revealing the Power of Visibly Queer Voices (in Media) and Learning to Love Yourself,educator and media critic Dr. Jonathan P. Higgins―aka Doctor Jon Paul―delivers an honest and extraordinary new take on how the author, and other Black Fat Femmes like them, have come to find and understand their identity.
Arrive early for a pre-event reception at Queermunity (3036 Hennepin Ave) from 6-6:50pm! Grab refreshments from the café, mingle with other attendees, and meet the author before the event begins at Magers & Quinn.

🌈 The Rainbow Retreat: Healing & Community
Join us for The Rainbow Retreat, a day of care, connection, and culture designed for The Community and allies of all generations. This intergenerational gathering creates a nurturing space for healing, connection, creativity, and shared wisdom.

FEEDBACK 2025
Get ready to turn it up—FEEDBACK is Queermunity’s signature PRIDE-season concert celebrating queer sound in all its electric glory, and this is our inaugural year. We’re cranking the amps with Taylor Ngiri Seaburg and Not Your Baby, two genre-defying artists whose soundscapes are as powerful as they are unapologetically queer. Expect special guests.

LGBTQ+ Senior Tea Dance (55+)
Spin through the decades with us at Timeless—a joy-filled tea dance for LGBTQ+ elders and friends, celebrating Pride with songs from the ages. Whether you’re here for disco, divas, or a slow jam or two, this midday gathering is made for movement, connection, and community.

The Archive Is Alive: Queer Elders in Story is a gathering that honors intergenerational wisdom by spotlighting queer elders across cultures and identities. The Resistance & Joy Screening Tour is a bold new initiative by Color Congress presenting a powerful slate of short documentaries, all directed by filmmakers of color. These films highlight activism, social justice movements, and the fight for equity across different communities.

Spectrum Cinema: Art & Pep (2022)
Celebrate Pride Month with Spectrum Cinema’s screening of Art & Pep, an inspiring documentary about Art Johnston and Pepe Peña, whose bar, Sidetrack, became a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ activism and community in Chicago. Their decades-long love story and fight for equality exemplify the power of grassroots advocacy and spaces that foster joy and progress.

Pride Connections: ASL and LGBTQ+ Deaf Culture Workshop
Come learn about the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing LGBTQIA2S community. Learn some American Sign Language, learn about Deaf Culture and Community, and make connections with others! Everyone is welcomed and ASL interpreters will be provided.

Telling Queer History’s Sunset Celebration
For the past 12 years, Telling Queer History has hosted gatherings that connect 2SLGBTQIA+ people across generations and identities—fostering healing, compassion, and empathy. As the organization prepares to close at the end of June 2025, this event offers a chance to come together in community, reflect on all that TQH has built and learned, and imagine the possibilities for our shared future.

LGBTQ+ Outdoor Experience Recreation Fair
The LGBTQ+ Outdoor Experience Recreation Fair is a free, public event celebrating outdoor activities, wellness, and recreation within the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. This one-day fair will feature door raffle giveaways, vendor booths, a free gear swap, and guided activities focused on promoting outdoor experiences, inclusive recreation, as well as physical and mental well-being. Learn more about local opportunities for nature adventures, canoeing day trips, queer sports leagues, hiking, gardening, forest bathing, and more!

Spectrum Cinema: Milk (2009)
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month and Harvey Milk Day, Spectrum Cinema presents Milk, a powerful biographical drama about the life and activism of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California. The film highlights his fight for LGBTQ+ visibility and equality, inspiring hope and resilience.

Spectrum Cinema: Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Spectrum Cinema presents Everything Everywhere All at Once, genre-defying masterpiece that explores identity, intergenerational healing, and the multiverse through the lens of a Chinese American immigrant family.

Opening Reception: The Paper Lantern Project
Celebrate the opening of Cut Fruit: Queer Edition—a vibrant gallery show featuring art, writing, and creative offerings from queer AAPI artists and future ancestors. This special edition spotlights work from contributors to The Paper Lantern Project, including pieces from our first zine, creations by cohort members, and contributions from our extended community

Imrov for Healing | 2-Day Retreat Series
Join us for a transformative 2-day retreat series that blends the art of improv with therapeutic healing practices. Each session is 3 hours, from 1pm to 4pm. Led by Alexis Camille of Blackout Improv, Improv for Healing offers an immersive experience designed to help participants explore the therapeutic benefits of improv in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Plant, Seed, and Seedling Swap
Get ready to swap, share, and grow at the Plant, Seed, and Seedling Swap on April 19th from 10 AM to 2 PM at Queermunity! The first 50 attendees will get a free bag of fresh worm castings to nourish your house plants or seedlings.

“Open the Door” Series: How do we talk about the intersections between racial and queer trauma?
This month's Open the Door workshop will explore important topics such as internalized oppression and the ways intergenerational and intercultural “isms”—including sexism, ageism, and cultural appropriation—affect individuals and communities. Through open and inclusive discussions, participants will have the opportunity to reflect, share, and learn in a supportive environment. All are welcome to join this meaningful conversation.

Spectrum Cinema: But I’m a Cheerleader (1999)
As spring blooms, Spectrum Cinema brings you But I’m a Cheerleader, a hilarious and heartfelt comedy that celebrates queer joy and self-discovery. This cult classic follows Megan, a high school cheerleader sent to a conversion therapy camp, as she finds love and embraces her true identity amidst absurdity and satire.
